Last time I attended the St Patrick Day Parade in San Francisco was back in 2009; I do like parades, and St Patrick’s Day is probably one of my favorites.
The format does not seem to change much, although I felt it a tiny bit smaller this year, but that could be just me.
Although the stars of the parade are traditionally firefighters and policemen, this year I shifted my attention mostly to the kids participating in the parade and not.
In a cold and windy day, the parade lasted all the way from 11.30am to 3.00pm (more or less), after which the Festival would continue in Civic Center Plaza, while I decided to get back home, edit the pictures and take a nap :-)
Hope you like the pictures!
Hello,
The first picture (girl piper) is of my daughter Claire. It’s a lovely picture and helps her mam and me back here in Tralee, Co Kerry, Ireland to see her having a great life in San Francisco – especially for St. Patricks day. She got a job in Berkeley Space Science Centre as a Solar Astrophysics research scientist a couple of years ago, so she makes us all really proud.
Thank you for sharing this picture.
Regards,
Dominic
