Wonderful day today at the Vason Park in Los Gatos, where the 4th Annual Silicon Valley Duck Race just took place.
The weather seems to have finally caught up with the calendar, and we got a gorgeous bright and warm (even hot) day today.
The Silicon Valley Duck Race and Festival is basically a fundraising even, targeting $100,000 from donations and – of course – the race :-)
The race is in fact a lottery, where instead of little numbered balls, you get little numbered ducks, but it gets better: the Grand Prize is a whooping $1,000,000 (million!!!) dollars.
From huge bags tied to one of the bridges in the park, thousands of yellow rubber ducks are waiting to jump into the water.
The current pushes the ducks down the creek.
The funnel in the receiving area will push the little runners into a pipe, from which the winners will be selected.
Here comes the winner!!!
So, today, it was all about yellow and ducks in Vasona Park. Btw, do you know what thousands of ducks look like? If you want to see, then check my gallery below :-)
